I show you step by step how to knit a pouch bag. It has a simple textured pattern, cinch cords, and an unusual, beautiful edge.

Techniques: You’ll only need to know how to knit, purl, and knit two together. All the techniques — including the textured stitch, the unusual bind-off, i-cord, and the double-knitted band — are explained in the video.

Construction: Start by knitting the bottom flat in a textured stitch. Then pick up stitches for the body and work in the round in the same textured stitch. Finish the body with an interesting bind-off. After that, knit two i-cords and thread them through the edge of the body. Finally, a strap can be knitted and sewn on.

Yarn & Needles:

• Blue version: Drops Paris, color 30 (53g), needles — 3.75 mm (US 5)
• Red version: two strands of Lana Grossa Campo, color 27 (56g), needles — 4 mm (US 6)
