Thank you for your interest in this pattern. Prairieland is a chunky, ethnic colorwork design which showcases a color changing yarn in aran weight against a solid background. While the hat requires only two yarns, the chart provided can easily accommodate however many yarns you may wish to employ, color changing or not. The chart has also been transposed to written direction in English, for those who prefer that route.

Yarn yardage requirements:
Yarn A = 86 yards. (Black)
Yarn B = 84 yards. (Mountain Range)

Utilizing a colorful braid to frame the face rather than standard ribbing ensures a comfortable fit while permitting the design of the hat to stand center stage. The end product is roomy with a modest slouch effect, the pattern a quick and easy knit.
