The Prairies Sweater is a basic drop shoulder sweater. It has a boxy and a more fitted look, thanks to the tighter ribbing at the hem and cuffs and a closer folded collar. Although at the body it still has plenty of positive ease (approx. 25cm/10”).
The length can be customized choosing between petite-length, regular-length, or up to your personal preference.

Construction:
It is worked top-down.
The upper back panel is worked first, then the upper front panel. After that you will join the upper front panel sides to create the neckline, join with back panel and work the rest of the body in the round. Then you will work the sleeves from armhole to cuff. And finally the folded collar.

Techniques:
knitting flat, knitting in the round, increasing, decreasing, german short rows, backwards loop cast-on, picking up stitches, optional tubular bind-off, folded collar stretchy bind-off.

Circular knitting needles:
-5 mm (US 8) or the required needles to obtain gauge - for main project;
-4 mm (US 6) or 1 size smaller than main needles - for body and cuffs ribbing.
-3.75 mm (US 5) - for collar.

-for body: 80-100 cm (32-40”).
-for sleeves and collar: 40 cm (16”).

Yarn:
-Size & Weight: Size 4 - Worsted/Aran.
-Yarn used and yarn’s yardage: Drops Alaska, pearl grey color (100% wool - 50g = 70m/77y);
-Suggested yarn: any yarn in the same weight, if you want to use Drops yarn ‘Alaska’ and ‘Nepal’ are good options;
