I love springtime. In Italy the spring begins early, a lot earlier than in Finland. In March the nature already wakes up, the green starts to take over and the flowers pop up here and there. It’s my preferred period to stay outdoors, it’s not too hot but the days are often sunny and warm. Birds are singing, the bees are buzzing and the yellow and white tiny flowers cover the grass in the garden.

Prato shawl was born in that period. The promise of the new summer, the warm wind that makes you believe. The pattern was born in spring, but I still feel the themes are very topical at the moment.

Choose your main color and use mini skeins of leftovers as contrasting colors. This asymmetric triangular shawl is knit from one tip down alternating lace panels and colorful flower sections. The stitch patterns refer to the growing leaves and flowers.
