Pretty Flower Coaster
Here’s a pretty Flower Coaster pattern complete with photographs and detailed descriptions so that it’s accessible to beginner and more experienced crocheters alike.
This pattern is written in a table form with round number; instruction and accompanying photograph in each row so that you can easily keep track of how far you’ve got. My crochet students tell me that they find this layout particularly helpful.
I use DK cotton as it’s fairly resistant to coffee cup heat but it also works up nicely in other similar weight yarns.
Coasters are a great way to use up leftovers from other projects. You can experiment with colour changes after each round to use up smaller leftover lengths too.
Coasters are a good way to learn how to work in the round.
They’re a quick make rather than a big project and make lovely gifts -especially if you personalise colours -which are cheap to post.
