A pattern as diverse and unique as the knitters’ imagination!

Any colours, any yarn type/size, any gauge, any needles, any number of petals.
The possibilities are endless!

Written with complete beginners in mind, this pattern is perfect as a little something to add that finishing touch on any project, outfit or gift, with instructions for sewing it on directly or to make into a brooch/pin to attach to whatever you like and reuse again and again.

Flower consists of 5 or more individual petals seamed together, a crocheted circle (instructions in pattern) and an optional safety/brooch pin.

You will need:

  • Yarn in any colour/s
  • Knitting needles to match your yarn weight
  • Yarn or tapestry needle for seaming and weaving in ends
  • Crochet hook, also to match your yarn weight
  • Safety/brooch pin (optional)

A great way to use up long pieces of scrap yarn, you can make the petals of a single colour, or a different colour for every petal for a splash of colour to go with your favourite outfit.

Please note: suggested yarn and needles, above, are not strictly necessary, it’s just the ones I used when creating this pattern. For a tight fabric on the petals, use as small a needle size as you want. For a more flexible fabric, I would recommend the needles of approximately 3.5mm and any DK weight yarn.

With the materials I used and my gauge, each petal used nearly 2 meters of yarn. Have extra for the circle used as the centre of the flower. Overall length of yarn used will depend on gauge and number of petals.
