About This Design
Don’t be misled by the name—Prickle is all visual texture and none of the sting. Tiny slipped stitches scatter across a field of garter stitch, creating a soft, richly detailed fabric that’s as enjoyable to knit as it is to wear.

With its easy rhythm and mostly garter construction, this scarf is wonderfully beginner-friendly while still engaging for more experienced knitters. Two contrasting colours highlight the stitch pattern, while neat i-cord edges give a clean, polished finish.

Designed to showcase two special skeins, Prickle is a relaxed, satisfying knit—perfect for slow stitching wherever you like to unwind.

Yarn
Any fingering-weight/4-ply yarn that knits to the indicated gauge.

Colour 1 - approximately 385 m/421 yd (this is approximately a 107 g ball of yarn).
Colour 2 - approximately 385 m/421 yd (this is approximately a 107 g ball of yarn).

The sample Prickle Scarf illustrated in this pattern was knitted with Tosh Merino Light in two long-discontinued colourways. Alternatively, you could check out https://yarnsub.com to source suitable alternative yarns. I suggest that you use a single ply yarn with a similar grist to Tosh Merino Light.

Needles
2.75 mm (US size 2, UK size 12).

Notions
Darning needle.
Blunt tapestry needle.
Blocking materials (optional).
