Promises to Keep is a crescent shaped shawl with a simple cable and lace pattern. The shawl is worked from the lower border, with short row shaping after the edging is completed. This is a quick knit and the edge pattern is easy to memorize. Knit at a loose gauge, the shawl is light and airy.

A solid, semi-solid, or tonal yarn is recommended. Any fingering weight yarn can be used, and the pattern would also work with other weights of yarn.

Pattern includes directions on increasing/decreasing the number of stitches as well as increasing the depth of the shawl.

The finished shawl will be long and narrow, with the middle of the shawl aproximately 1 foot and a width of about 5 feet.

Information on the knitted cast and Icord bindoff are available on Knitty.
