Prosta in Polish means easy, which I really wanted this pattern to be. It includes instructions on how to create a reversible, striped beanie.

It’s worked fully in the round. Prosta Beanie is also a perfect canvas for a duplicate stitch design of your dreams. I’ve included a chart for my signature Rat and a swirly Rat Tail so that you may also have
a very rat hat!

MATERIALS:

3.5 mm circular needles with a 40 cm cable

3.5 double pointed needles

3.5 crochet hook ( for provisional cast on )

YARN:

I recommend a light DK yarn ( 50 g / 120-150 m ). Fibres that would work great for this hat include: alpaca, cashmere and merino wool.

To make a hat with one base colour and two different stripes on each side:

50 g ( 100 g ) of colour A ( base )
50 g ( 50 g ) of colour B ( stripe )
50 g ( 50 g ) of colour C ( stripe )

To make a plain hat with two different colours and a duplicate stitch design on each side:

50 g ( 50 g ) of each colour

To make a hat with one base colour with stripes on one side and a duplicate stitch design on the other:

100 g ( 100 g ) of colour A

50 g ( 50 g ) of colour B

SIZE:

S (L) = 55-59 cm ( 59-62 cm)

This pattern has negative ease so if you’re on the larger end
of the smaller size I recommend sizing up!

GAUGE:

20 stitches x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockienette stitch on 3.5 mm needles
