Puff and stripes tee
until the 8. septemper 0900 pm there is a special price for this pattern. After that the price will be raised
Puff and Stripes Tee resembles my Everyday Puff Tee. But make no mistake: the two yarns chosen for the two designs are very different. They drape differently and behave differently. So, in order to make the design work as intended in the lovely Elena yarn from Mondial, I have had to make other adjustments and use different techniques.
This means that the patterns do not shape the upper shoulders in the same way — and it shows how much the yarn composition, drape, firmness and row gauge matter in a construction.
So: If you love my puffs, pay attention to how your yarn “behaves” once knitted, and to the row gauge — and buy the pattern that matches the yarn and yarncontent you want to knit with.
A lovely tee with a flattering puff sleeve. Worked top down in a partial contiguous construction. A construction developed by Susie Myers. It has raw edges, simple stripe pattern, so the otherwise very feminine and decorative puff can be used for everyday wear.

The model is also constructed with my special GSRs, which I have developed over time, precisely because I was tired of many top-down sweaters creating a large fold at the front neckline. Down the body, there are 3 options for shape: “Straight down”, a light A-line or waist-shaping.
At the beginning, stockinette stitch is worked back and forth while the neckline is shaped, but otherwise in stockinette stitch in the round. Work row by row until the neckline is shaped; after that it goes round and round. The pattern includes tips for adjustments. So the model can be made to fit your own body and your own wishes for fit.
In the abbreviation section, there is a loose description of how the stripes on the shown samples are distributed. The pattern is meant as a canvas for your imagination, wishes and leftovers of Elena yarn.
Practical information
Sizes
1, 2 (3, 4) 5, 6
The tee’s actual approx. measurements in cm:
Full bust circumference 90, 95 (100, 110), 120, 130 cm
From acromion to acromion measured across the front approx. 31, 33 (34, 35) 36, 36 cm (remember the sleeve also adds width to the body) Measurement between bra straps approx.
Armhole length measured flat approx. 19, 21 (22, 22.5) 23.5, 24.5 cm
Sleeve width BEFORE decreases approx. Sleeve width BEFORE approx. 45, 45.5 (46, 51) 51, 51 cm. After the given decreases, so the puff is closed in and on needle B, suggested width approx. 31, 32 (35, 36) 38, 42 cm – BUT the sleeve should be adjusted to the actual size of the arm and the wearer’s preference. Instructions for personal adjustment are given in the sleeve section
Full length – should be adjusted to your own wishes. The sample shown, which is size 1, measures 29 cm from the joining of back and front. In total, the sample shown is approx. 50 cm long. A standard measurement could be 50, 52 (55, 57) 58, 60 cm in full length – this is approx. 29, 31 (33, 33.5) 34.5, 37 cm measured under the arm from the sts that join back and front. It is a good idea to measure the length AFTER the sleeves have been worked, as the picked-up sts at the bottom of the armhole pull a little length away
Size selection: Everyday Puff tee is intended to fit close over the shoulders and upper chest. This makes the puff sit very well on the shoulder. Allow for minus 2 to +3 cm ease in relation to actual body measurement. You may take a top, T-shirt or similar that fits close over the shoulders and upper chest and find the size that fits closest. If choosing between two sizes, choose the smaller one. There is an option to make it larger over the bust at the armhole increases. The pattern gives the option to work the body straight down, with waist shaping, or to make a light A-line.
Needles:
Circular needle 4.0 mm, 80 cm and shorter for sleeve and neck edge (needle A)
Circular needle 3.5 mm, 80 cm and shorter (needle B)
Circular needle 3.25 mm, 80 cm and shorter (needle C)
Yarn: Mondial Elena. 125 m /50 g. 80 % cotton, 20 % silk. Approx. 5, 5 (6, 7) 9, 10 skeins If worked in one colour. A wish for more stripes in more colours will require more yarn. The same applies to adjustments that increase the length and width. A guideline can be to take the total weight of the number of skeins needed for a one-colour version and divide it between the colours depending on how the stripes are to be distributed.
Gauge: 20 sts X 28 rows = 10 X 10 cm in stockinette stitch on needle A.
