I’m normally a total scrooge about the holidays… Especially when people start getting ready for Christmas before Advent! But The Preemie Project’s Holiday Drive got even my bah-humbug self excited about Christmas early.

We Iowans have enjoyed a mild autumn with no snow on the ground yet, but usually these snowman hats are very November appropriate! They are very nice to make out of a soft acrylic yarn. The little popcorn stitches give the hats a lovely texture to work with.

Hats are worked back and forth, joining each row with slip stitch. The single-crochet popcorn stitches are worked from the wrong side and the stitches “puff out” to the right side.
