This is a tapestry crochet pattern, starting at the bottom righthand corner. The only stitch used in this pattern is single crochet. It is symmetrical along the vertical axis. It is made using two colors (A and B). There are different methods for alternating colors. For the original pattern, the author used different balls of yarn for each column of color B, and carried color A underneath. Finished dimensions will vary, depending on yarn weight, tension, and hook size. If this is a beginner project, choose plain yarns of identical weight and contrasting colors.

While this pattern was intended to be used as a crochet pattern, it can also be used for cross-stitch, knitting, embroidery, or other similar fibrecrafts.
