Pussy Willow Shawl was created for the 2026 Kansas City Yarn Crawl, for Unwind Fiber Arts in Lees Summit, MO. Available free at Unwind throughout the Yarn Crawl, with the purchase of a shawl kit.

The pussy willow is widely celebrated for its soft, silky, fuzzy silver-gray catkins that emerge in late winter or early spring before the leaves appear. The Pussy Willow shawl is the baby sister to the Willow Moon cowl and the Whispering Willow Shawl. This shallow triangular shawl uses one-color brioche branches and I-cord bobbles to emulate the look of the pussy willow. It is knit from one end to the other, casting on just a few stitches and increasing from the wrong side until it reaches its maximum width, then decreasing until finished.
