Quetzal starts with a graphic three colour colourwork motif on the cuff. With a dedicated chart for each size it’s a quick easy introduction to abstract stranded knitting. The rest of the sock is worked in a 3/1 rib pattern on the leg and top of the foot.
The pattern includes two heel options and a rounded toe.

Yarn :
You will need three colours of fingering weight sock yarn in the following amounts :
MC : 200 (250 / 300 / 350) meters – 220 (275 / 330 / 385) yards
CC1 : 35 (45 / 55 / 65) meters – 40 (50 / 60 / 75) yards
CC2 : 5 (8 / 12 / 18) meters – 6 (10 / 15 / 20) yards

The sample was knit using Retrosaria Mondim in 100 (MC), 105 (CC1) and 302 (CC2).

Needles :
Main fabric : 2.25 mm (US 1) circular needles or DPNs
Colourwork : 2.5 mm (US 1.5) circular needles or DPNs
or sizes required to get gauge

Gauge :
31 sts x 40 rnds per 10 cm – 4” in stranded knitting with larger needles after blocking
35 sts x 46 rnds per 10 cm – 4” in stockinette stitch with smaller needles after blocking

Sizes :
19.5 (22 / 24.5 / 27) cm – 7 ¾ (8 ¾ / 9 ¾ / 10 ½)“ finished cuff circumference.
Measure your ankle where you wish the colourwork portion to sit and choose a size with a maximum of 1 cm – ½” negative ease.

16.5 (19 / 21 / 23.5) cm – 6 ½ (7 ½ / 8 ¼ / 9 ¼)“ finished foot circumference.
Measure your foot at its widest point under the toes and choose a size with about 2.5 cm – 1” negative ease.

If you need two different sizes between the cuff and the foot, you will be able to adjust after the colourwork section.

Tailles :
19.5 (22 / 24.5 / 27) cm de tour de cheville fini.
Mesurez votre cheville là où vous souhaitez que le jacquard se positionne et choisissez une taille avec 1 cm d’aisance négative maximum.

16.5 (19 / 21 / 23.5) cm de tour de pied fini.
Mesurez votre pied à son point le plus large sous les orteils et choisissez une taille avec environ 2.5 cm d’aisance négative.

Si vous avez besoin de deux tailles différentes entre la cheville et le pied, vous pourrez ajuster après le jacquard.
