Pattern Description:
Coif, Headband or Bonnet? You choose your favorite name and way to wear this cozy and colorful accessory. Bara Bara’s delightfully tonal Hand Dyed Chunky yarn will make yours one-of-a-kind! The Quick Coif is a delightful alternative to the beanie. Great for all kinds of outside activities – try it on a hike, your next bocce ball game or just walking around town. Keeps your ears and the top of your head cozy and is more secure and less bulky than a beanie!
This quick project is also great for learning all kinds of fun new techniques, such as the I-cord, slip stitches, and double increases and double decreases in one row. Adding the silk ribbons is a way to make yours extra special. Worked on size 13 needles it will be done in a jiffy. You will love knitting the Quick Coif so much that you’ll want to make one for everyone you know!
Materials:
• 1 hank of of Bara Bara Hand Dyed Chunky yarn 66 yards (100 grams), 100% Wool.
• Size 13 short bamboo/wood needles or size 13 – 24” circular needles or size for gauge
• Size 13 double pointed needles for I-Cord
• 6 strands of Hanah Hand Dyed Silk ribbons 7/16” – 80” long to match and coordinate with the yarn color (3 for each I-Cord)
• Locking markers
• Clover gold jumbo bent tip needle

Gauge:
• 14 sts to 4” = 3.5 sts to 1” in k1, p1 ribbing (unstretched)
Approximate Finished Measurements:
• Width at top of band = 6”. Coif/Headband length = 24”. I-Cord & Ribbons length = 20” - 21”.
