Rainbow Blanket
This blanket is so simple to make! This pattern is a sort of apology for my Remnants Blanket which has loads and loads of ends to be weaved in. The Rainbow is much more straight forward.
There are only 2 stitches are used. You can change colour as often as you like. I used a rainbow of colours, but you could use any colour combinations you like.
The Rainbow Blanket is great for using up scrap yarn.
Materials
You will need a 4.00mm hook and Double Knit yarn. I used a mix of brands. This created a blanket that needed to be blocked, as there are variations in the weights of different brands of yarn. But if you stick to the same weight and the same brand, it will not be necessary to block.
Colours:
I deliberately used colours to reflect a rainbow, and I used varying numbers of rows to make it more interesting. You could use 1 colour, or any colour combinations you like.
The finished blanket is 48” by 50”, excluding the tails, but this blanket is easy to re-size.
Simple!
Yes, the pattern is very simple and there are no variations. As it is worked in double rather than treble crochet, it creates a dense piece, but it is slow. However, like may crafters, I have several WIPs on the go, so this is one that I can work on even if I am tired. Or just having a lazy day! And it is ideal if you need to take a break from a complicated project.
