Our family and neighbours have been taking part in the ‘Clap for Carers’ every Thursday night to show our appreciation for the National Health Service and all the carers and key-workers who are working so hard during the Coronavirus pandemic. Our children and thousands of others around the country have decorated our front windows with paintings and drawings of rainbows – they are another symbol of our thanks to all the brilliant NHS staff on the front line in our hospitals. I wanted to make something rainbow-y as my contribution to our window so I decided to crochet some colourful bunting. This pattern contains all the info on how to make it, plus some handy step-by-step photos which show how to make up the bunting.

The pattern is beginner friendly - the triangles are really simple to make.

Yarn = Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran, in shades:

Rose Red
Seville Orange
Buttercup Yellow
Grass Green
Marine Blue
Sailor Blue
Rich Mauve
Paper White

You will need less than 1 ball for each.

Hook = 5mm

The gauge is not critical for this pattern

My bunting is approx. 2.5m in length to fit my window but you can adjust the size to fit your own space.

I have added some applique letters to my bunting, made from white felt - but these are optional.
