Rainbow Wanderer Socks
The rain eases, the sun appears and a rainbow arches across the
sky. Ah, it brings a smile to the face and you’ll be smiling all day
long with these cheery rainbows travelling across your feet.
These striking socks are not nearly as difficult as they first appear. The colourwork technique is explained and is actually very simple. Although none of the stitches used in this pattern are difficult, there is a lot going on at once, so these socks are not intended for the beginner sock knitter, but if you’re brave of heart, dive in anyway. Pattern contains both charted and written instructions.
Small and medium sizes will use one 100g ball of most brands of fingering weight sock yarn. The large size may require part of a second ball, depending on your leg and foot lengths. Contrast cuffs/heels/toes are always an option to get larger socks out of just 1 ball of main colour. The colourwork requires approximately 6m/7y of each colour.
The fit of these socks is very similar to that of a plain ‘vanilla’ sock of 56 (64, 72sts).
