Show your admiration for your favorite supreme court justice and all-around badass with this quick knit – a Christmas ornament inspired by Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s black robes and signature lace collar.

Kits containing the pattern, yarn, ornament form, and collar material are now available via the LexiCorp Etsy shop.

Yarn:

  • 43 yds red fingering weight yarn in black
  • 9 yds size 10 white crochet cotton OR 6” white lace trim

Needles & Hook

  • US1 (2.25mm) double pointed needles or long circular(s) for magic loop (32” or longer)
  • 1.5mm steel crochet hook or similar size (if using crocheted collar version) or
  • Sewing needle and white sewing thread (if using cotton lace trim version)

Additional Materials

  • 3.27” shatterproof ornament and hanger or Poly-fil stuffing
  • Darning needle for weaving in ends
  • White button (1/4”)

Knitting skills required:
small diameter circular knitting, m1 increases, kfb increases, k2tog decreases.

Crochet skills: (optional - if you’d prefer not to crochet, instructions are included for using a fabric lace trim)

chain, single crochet, double crochet, slip stitch
