These textured mitts are reversible and can be made in a few evenings with less than a skein of yarn. They’re made for a 6/7-year-old but have quite a bit of stretch to them. Star stitch is easier than it looks and I include both written and photo instructions for those new to it.
The construction is very simple with no increasing or decreasing. Begin at the bottom with rounds of hdc, then switch to working stars in rows (which creates the thumb slit) and then go back to rounds of hdc to close off the top.
