These pants fit CPFairyland’s 7.5” tall Realfee ball-jointed doll (BJD). The simple pants are knit in 2 identical halves and sewn together. Using the same shaping for front and back works out well, given the doll’s small size. (It also avoids the dreaded “knit second leg, reversing shaping” instructions!) Embroidery threads differ slightly in thickness among brands, so be sure to check gauge.
3-strand balls of embroidery thread are wonderful to knit with since no separating of strands are needed: just start knitting!

Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl, slip, knit front and back of 1 stitch, SSK (slip, slip, knit slipped stitches together) and bind off in knit and purl stitch.

Gauge is important in this pattern but stitches per inch are more important than rows per inch. Make a swatch or measure the first pant early in your knitting.

45 yards (about 1.5 balls) of main color (MC) Valdani O571 (variegated) and 8 yards of contrasting color (CC) Valdani 1643 (solid brown) of 3 strand embroidery thread will make one pair of Realfee hobbit pants in the stated gauge.
Feel free to use any colors you like!
