I knit this shawl during a period when I was temporarily displaced from my home due to storm damage. While family members provided a warm safe place to stay, this shawl helped me stay grounded during a time of upheaval…it was my refuge.

Refuge is a cape-shaped shawl that features triangular stockinette panels set into a garter stitch border.

Look complicated? Not to worry! Refuge is knit sideways with strategic use of short rows, so only one ball of each color is needed on the two color rows.
