Retro French Sailor Top

The Retro French Sailor Top brings 70’s vibe with a modern twist!

This top has been made with different yarns. One is made with organic cotton to bring sportier and street vibe; the other is made with alpaca mix to bring soft and street vibe.

Rev 2.1 has been released with simpler and clear description with German short row.

This garment is drop-shoulder with positive ease 2 to 3 cm, semi-over size fit on body and sits on just above belt line.

This pattern runs as loose fit.

Description

The Retro French Sailor Top is knitted from the top down, starting with a long tail cast on it is knit in the round from neckline using strategically placed increases to create the shoulder line.

If you proffer lower front neckline, German short row (option) has been added to new released ver.

Once the shoulder line is created, continue to knit increases to complete the yoke, then split to form the arms to the body.

The body and arm are finished with double knit bind off.

US 6: 4.0mm size needle is used for whole body, US 5: 3.5 mm size needle is used for double knit bind off only.

for loose fit and tight knitters US 7:4.5 mm needle option has been added.

If you are tight knitter or using bulker yarn then increase needle size to 4.5mm (size will stay similar, only a little loose fit)
