Reverse stockinette stitches are the main stitch on this top-down sweater. Because most of us prefer to work “knit” stitches rather than “purl” stitches, we knit this sweater inside-out in the round.
The sample is knitted with sport weight yarn doubled throughout which creates the fun ombre effect.
I like the look of doubled yarn ombre knitting in reverse stockinette stitch. The transition is smoother and blend well.

The sweater is a relaxed fit. Armholes are very generous and longer bottom rib and cuffs adds fun / modern look. The neck is a combination of rib and rolled edge. There are 4-knit stitch lines at raglan lines, side of body and under sleeves which add sleek and somewhat sporty look.

The sample is knitted with doubled sport weight yarn, but just single worsted weight yarn works great for this sweater.
