This baby blanket is not the usual square. It is an oblong or rectangular shape. You can make any size you like - just keep adding rows. However, the more rows you add, the less pronounced the rectangular shape, so instructions are given for 2 sizes, with further instructions on how to size up your blanket, while at the same time keeping the rectangle shape.

You will need Double knit yarn, 4.5mm hook, darning needle.

Skills: treble, chain, slip stitch and basic sewing. These are easy stitches, but get some practice before you start on a large project like a blanket.

You can change colour as often as you like with this pattern.

The pattern includes an optional border.

The finished blanket looks the same from both sides, hence the name.
