A Different Kind of Pattern.

Ribbons have always been an ornamental symbol: we decorate, commemorate, and celebrate with ribbons. These are all beautiful things. Ribboning, what this pattern teaches you, is a slightly different act. It’s what happens as we make these wraps from our experience, our aesthetic, our mystery. We ribbon ourselves, we wrap ourselves in the colors we need to remember to unfurl a thriving yet to come.

I imagine all of us wrapped in our Ribbons, each one different, each one made from the hours of self witnessing as much as from the stitches. When it’s done, it’s done. No one can tell us that it’s good. We’ll already know. We’re simply arriving, showing up in our fullness, ready to laugh, to sit, to smile, to lend a hand. Ribboning is love as bands of color.

An extensive consideration of materials is included in the pattern.
