PATTERN NOTES

The Ribbon Candy hat is a fun, colorful hat with a delightful slipped stitch colorwork design!

Ribbon Candy is cast on at the brim and knit seamlessly in the round to the crown, which has X shaped decreases.

Because slipped stitch colorwork only uses one color of yarn per round, the Ribbon Candy Hat is is an excellent pattern for knitters who are new to colorwork!

You can use anywhere from 2 to 11 colors on your Ribbon Candy Hat. It’s perfect for leftovers, mini skeins, or advent sets!

SIZING AND MATERIALS

Sizes: Baby (Toddler, Child, Adult); 12.75 (15.5, 18, 20.25)”/31.75 (38.75, 45, 50.5) cm circumference, unstretched

Yarn: Asylum Fibers Sport. MC approx. 130 (150, 175, 195) yards / 120 (140, 160, 180) m, CC approx. 50 (65, 80, 100) yards/ 45 (60, 75, 92) m total (not per color!).

Sample shown in Mocha Mousse (MC), Huntress (CC1), Cruising (CC2), Cobalt (CC3), Delphinium (CC4), and How Noble (CC5).

Gauge: 25 stitches and 32 rows in 4”/10cm with larger needle in stockinette stitch in the round.

Needles: US #3 / 3 mm and US #4 / 3.5 mm circular — or size needed to obtain gauge + one size smaller.
