This pattern has been edited and is written in accordance with American Craft Councils’ guidelines for crochet patterns. The terminology used, the pattern layout and the way instructions are written is in keeping with what you will find in professional crochet publications like Interweave Crochet and Happily Hooked.

This isn’t any sweater; it is the sweater. The prototypical, wear with everything, wear it until it falls apart, classic sweater. As such this pattern comes with 2 different neck lines, length that is customized to your body and two different sleeve lengths. It also has 3 yarns listed in the materials section, so you have a choice of different yarns at different price points all that have the same gauge. I made this sweater in three quite different style yarns, to help you envision what this will look like if made with yarn that has short irregular, short regular and long color changes.

This also has a fit guide, that will show you how to get different fits from slouchy to tight with this pattern.

Skills needed to make this top:
• You will need to learn how to make a linked double treble stitch, I have a video on this stitch on YouTube. This is like working short rows of Tunisian.
• You will need to be able to make increases.
• You will need to make crochet ribbing. Since the Ribbing is done at the end you can use any method you would like or follow the front post/back post method in the pattern.

Hook: 5.5 mm/I hook for the body and 5.0 mm/H hook for the ribbing. You do not need a Tunisian hook for this top, a standard hook will work.

Sizes Ranges and fit:
XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL)
To Fit Bust: 32 (36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64)”
Finished Measurements: 32 (36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64)”

Yarn Requirements: I choose Fiber Seed Sprout Sock, Schoppel, Das Original Crazy Zauberball and Paint Box Sock Yarn but any sock yarn that has a similar gauge will work. You can use any fine sport weight or fingering weight yarn in this pattern.
