The design of this little knit was inspired by the texture of a ribwort plantain leaf, with its pattern of horizontal ripples between long, vertical ribs, tapering at top and bottom. It is knitted in one piece from the top down in a classic raglan design, using short rows (wrap and turn method) to shape the neck. Sleeves are worked in the round. No seaming required!

It can be knitted with a 4ply yarn and lace weight yarn held together (see photos of green cardigan, size 0-3 months), or with a single strand of 4ply yarn (see photos of pink cardigan, size 9-12 months). Slight variations in gauge will still result in a proportional garment, as long as your gauge swatch is square, as the instructions are written by row count rather than measurements.
