Inspired by Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the Riddle of the Sphinx Socks give the perfect answer to get us through the maze! These socks are a fun way to celebrate our love of these books, characters, and wizardly feels!

Note: A fish lips kiss heel is used in this pattern to show off the color for the heel. The heel is a paid for pattern on Ravelry, and is not included in this pattern. You will need to download this pattern to be able to knit these socks, or know a type of afterthought heel method, as a heel flap and gusset pattern will not work with the colorwork.

This pattern is knit with a 60 st count at the moment, due to the colorwork count needs. Please note that after each word, and each spider knit in the colorwork, you can add one more st each time to create a 64 st count if needs be.

Please note that gauge matters a lot in this pattern. Make sure that when you are working the colorwork, you take into account that socks are knit with negative ease. You may need to let your floats be slightly longer than you are used to. Recommended: work the colorwork section in the round as your swatch, then see if it will fit over your heel. adjust needle size as needed. This will give a good indication if it will work for you. If not accurately measured, the sock will not fit over your heel.
