The Rigi 1 Hat starts directly with a broad rib pattern (Rigi 1 because there is 1 layer of fabric over your ears) of 16 radiating rib segments of knit and purl stitches.

Named after Mount Rigi — often called the “Queen of the Mountains” — the hat’s crown-shaped silhouette echoes its namesake.

The hat is knitted bottom-up on a short (40 cm) circular needle. For the crown shaping, switch to double-pointed needles or to a long circular needle for working with the Magic Loop method.
