In this pattern you will find included, in addition to all the necessary instructions to complete the knitted part of the bag, the guide to sew the leather accessories.

We hope it is a great knitting experience for you, and that you may enjoy this beautiful design for a long time.

About the pattern

The Rio Bucket Bag is an ideal pattern for knitters of intermediate level and above, however, we have done our best to detail and illustrate in very simple language accompanied by supporting graphics and videos, all the necessary steps so that it can also be understood by beginner level knitters.

The bag is knitted from the bottom up, starting with a pinhole stitch assembly, then making increases through the PI Circle technique. When we reach the end of the circle, we will mark with a round of purl stitches the place where the work is folded. Following, we’ll move on to knitting the body of the bag: first, decreases will be made to mark the course of the body, then it will be knitted in stockinette stitch until the final edge. The double knitted handle will be constructed with the help of double pointed needles. To finish, we will have the option to add a bottom, cords and leather shoulder handle sewn to the body of the bag with a blunt wool needle, or the option of simply knit an additional Pi circle to cover the ends of the handle at the bottom of the bag, and an I- cord to close the inner drawstring bag to finish this project.
