The River Trail Mitts pattern is a moderately easy cable knit that requires minimum effort for maximum results! Luscious flowing cables along side textured trails work up together to create cozy mitts with patterned or ribbed cuffs that can be folded, if desired. Mitts are beautifully designed with textured cables on one side and plain stocking stitch on the other, and a well constructed thumb gusset that results in an attractive, professional finish. Instructions are for worsted weight yarn and include charts, tables and video tutorials that dumb down the cable stitches making this pattern perfect for first-time cable knitters. It doesn’t get more fun than these quick and delicious mitts!

You’ll appreciate the folded cuffs and the coziness they provide on cold, snowy days and the long, single cuff when things are a little milder. Then there’s a fingerless option that allows your fingers to be free to drive or use your electronic device while still keeping your hands warm. Full or fingerless styles with pretty cuff options--that’s a lot of value in just one pattern! And they match the River Trail Beanie pattern to create the perfect set!

This moderately easy knitting pattern is written in US terms (English).
Pattern is for one-size-fits-most mitts that can be adjusted for size by changing needles.
Pattern is knit in the round from the bottom up with a 14-stitch repeat over 12 rounds in the cable panel section. Pattern is worked on double point needles but magic loop will also work.

Directions are for worsted weight yarn with US 7-9 (4.5 mm-5.5 mm) needles. Recommended yarn is Malabrigo Worsted for best results. Many other brands will work, but be sure to check needle size and confirm gauge with a test swatch before beginning.
