Robin is my most favourite sweater that our daughter wore:
squishy garter stitch, cozy wool hugging shoulders, with the ruffle collar framing her dear small face.
A-line shaping through the body and fold over cuffs allowed her freedom to move and grow.
As you knit the simplicity of the garter stitch pattern will become rhythmic and allow you to engage with the subtle nuances of wool.
Soon you will be buttoning up and watching
your bouncy little bird wander through the woods or your own backyard, stuffing pockets
with rocks, moss, and leaves… hello robin
