This nautical sweater was inspired by a lovely New England coastal town called “Rockport”. It features quaint little shops and restaurants. A few feet away are docked sailboats, schooners, canoes and fishing boats. The colors of the sweater were inspired by the coastal feel of this town at sunset.

Juniper Moon Zooey is a nice light cotton/linen blend that creates a richly textured fabric similar to the weathered look of old boats, perfect for this sweater however any cotton blend DK yarn will work. The row gauge is very important for this sweater because of the stripe pattern. Please make sure to swatch and choose the appropriate yarn for this project!

This sweater can be worked in the round (or flat) bottom up with set-in sleeves and a very slight scoop neck. Instructions are provided for both methods. Meant to be worn with a relaxed fit with approx 3-4” ease and very slight waist shaping.

Note about Juniper Moon Zooey
The yarn has a tendency to bias a little (twist) especially if knitted in the round - a bit less so if knitted flat. Should you choose to knit this in the round, you just need to block it a little more sturdily so that it lies flat and straight.
