Super cozy yet light enough for summer, this simple classic vest is light yet warm enough to shield you from cool summer breezes and when the temperatures drop. Something versatile to wear over a linen buttoned shirt, a Tee-shirt. Perfect for evening walks, a beach coverup, cooler days, etc… and it features a hood as well! It is meant to be worn with about 1-2” max of positive ease and the front is deliberately open.

This vest or sleeveless cardigan can be worked flat or seamlessly. I prefer the structure that seams provide to a garment, so my version was knitted flat and seamed. Instructions for both versions are provided.

The vest is meant to be worn open (it will not close). Adjust the size accordingly if you have a larger bust or prefer a vest that has more coverage in front.

The All Seasons Cotton works really well, but any cotton would work for this vest as long as the yarn is not heavy with viscose, rayon or bamboo all of which would pull the garment down and stretch it out.

Design details:

  • Slits on each side for comfort
  • Eyelet detail all along the edge incl. the perimeter of the hood.
  • Deep Pockets (for keys, phone, chocolate ;)
  • Contrasting Pocket trim
  • Hood
