A pretty felted bowl with applique roses and leaves. The bowl is knit in the round with 2 strands of worsted weight yarn held together; the roses and leaves are knit with fingering weight yarn. All pieces are felted in a washing machine or dryer. The roses and leaves are sewn to the bowl post felting with a sewing needle and transparent thread.

MATERIALS

Yarn:

Yarn A: 3 skeins Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Worsted; Color: Grizzly Heather; 325 yards

Yarn B: 1 skein Knit Picks Palette; Color: Blossom Heather; 50 yards

Yarn C: 1 skein Knit Picks Palette; Color: Green Tea Heather; 50 yards

Needles: Size US 10.5 circular needle or Size US 10.5 double pointed needles (or size to achieve gauge) to work in the round with 2 strands of Yarn A; Size US 5 needles for Yarns B and C.

Notions: Scissors, tapestry needle, sewing needle, transparent sewing thread, fiberfill (for shaping the bowl), stitch markers, and washing machine or dryer for felting
