The Rose Jam Hat is a toasty, slouchy, worsted-weight hat with an all-over texture inspired by rose petals. The cabled petals, inspired by the heart-shaped petals of old fashioned roses, emerge from the crown of the hat and cascade down to the ribbed brim.

Skills required include knitting in the round, basic decreases, and 2-stitch cables. The cables can be knit without a cable needle if you prefer, and I’ve included instructions for my favourite method.

Materials: 128 (160) yards / 118 (147) metres of worsted-weight yarn. I used 1 skein of Malabrigo Rios (100% merino, 210 yards / 192 metres per 100g skein) in ‘Ravelry Red’.

Sizing: S (L) to fit adult head circumferences of 19-21” (22-24”). Shown in size L.
Hat dimensions: 18” (20”) circumference and 8” (9”) in length.
Suggestions are included for resizing.

Both charted and written instructions are included.
