These mittens are inspired by the south Rose Window of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. They are a regular ladies’ size, knitted in the round on dpns with gauge 36 sts & 36 rows/ 10 cm (4”). The pattern contains written description and charts, along with a Tips & Explanations section where different techniques are explained, including a stitch-by-stitch description of the first rnd of the thumb.

Knowledge: The pattern uses knit, purl, increase, SSK, k2tog, and SK2P. You will also need to read charts.

MATERIALS:

Yarn suggestion: Drops Fabel (black) and Austerman Step (contrast colour).
MC (Black): approx. 45 grams
CC (Variegated): approx. 30 grams

Alternative to contrast colour: Opal Glitter or Cewec Salida Glitter.

Dpns size 2.5 mm or size needed to achieve gauge
Stitch holder or scrap yarn for thumb stitches
