The Rosie Skirt is worked top-down in the round.

A folded waistband creates a casing for an elastic. German short rows add length to the back, ensuring an even hem when worn.

The body is worked in stockinette stitch, followed by an I-cord bind-off. Stitches are then picked up along the I-cord edge to work the lace hem.

The skirt is designed with approx. 8-12 cm (3-4¾ in) of negative ease and is intended to sit low on the hips.

Back length increases are achieved through additional German short rows, allowing for an improved fit without significantly changing the front length.

Length can easily be adjusted by working more or fewer rounds before beginning the I-cord bind-off.

Techniques used:
Knitting in the round
German short rows
Folded waistband with elastic casing
I-cord bind-off
Picking up stitches
Lace increases

The pattern is available in English and German.
