This pattern combines traditional granny stitch with contrasting color rounds of single and double crochet (along with some clever construction techniques) to create a beautiful crochet square that blends a modern geometric aesthetic with nostalgic tradition.

This square is worked in rounds from the center out, then worked flat for each of the outer corners, then worked in rounds again for the final border.

The pattern is for the square only - it works well as a modular component for making blankets, pillow covers, bags, etc

The suggested yarn is Cottino by Lion Brand and uses approximately 81yds/74m/27g of yarn per square (45yds/41m/15g of the cream color and 36yds/33m/12g of the brown color), but feel free to use any yarn you prefer.

Square measures around 7.5”/19cm square using the suggested yarn and hook size
