Cozy fingerless mitts with elegant horseshoe cables and wrist shaping. Knits up up quickly in a bulky yarn. Designed to match the Rothesay Hat and Cowl free patterns.

The two-stitch mini-twist cables running up each side can be made without a cable needle; link to tutorial is included in the pattern notes.

Sized to fit average women’s medium hand/arm: arm circumference is 9” unstretched, hand circumference is 8” unstretched.

Skills required:
Cables, increasing/decreasing, knitting in the round.

Gauge:
15 stitches per 4 inches, 23 rows per 4 inches in stockinette stitch with larger needle size
12-stitch horseshoe cable measures 2 3/8” wide blocked

You may want to go down to US 7 needles for the non-ribbing portions of the pattern; some testers had better results with a smaller needle.
