Knitted Vests are on-trend all year and can be layered over almost everything - this timeless piece is so versatile; the options are endless. If I had to choose one Capsule piece, I would choose a vest.
The Ruffled Check Vest is knitted using 2 yarns; soft and silky Noro is a lightly spun wool blend and is used as a main colour and Sirdar Cashmere Merino Silk is a solid colour shade, used to create the slipped stitch check pattern.

SKILL LEVEL: Beginners.
Sts used: K, p, k2tog, ssk, cdd, slip1, slip1 wyif, bobble. St explanations- below.

MATERIALS REQUIRED
• MC 3 x 50g balls 375m or 411yds using Noro Silk Garden Lite DK (2172).
• CC 2 x 50g balls, 232m or 254yds using Sirdar Cashmere Merino Silk DK (411).
NB If you substitute another yarn, please check gauge (tension) and yardage.
• 1 Circular needle 3.50mm x 80cm (US 4).
• 1 Circular needle 4.00mm x 80cm (US 6).
• 1 Tapestry needle.
• Marker.
MEASUREMENTS AFTER BLOCKING
One size: Fits S - M (S - oversized).
Vest flat width (just below armhole) - 48cm/ 19ins.
Vest length (from top of the shoulders) - 43cm/ 17ins.

GAUGE (Tension): 20 sts and 32 rows = 10cm (4ins), garment being blocked and measured over slip st pattern, using 4.00mm (US 6) needle.
NB Needle size is only a guide- if you get too many stitches for 10cm, take a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches for 10cm, take a smaller needle size. It’s very important to check your gauge (tension) before starting as working to the wrong tension will mean your garment won’t be size shown.
