“Alice would say, “When I grow up, I too will go to faraway places, and when I grow old, I too will live by the sea.” “That is all very well, little Alice,” said her grandfather, “but there is a third thing you must do.” “You must do something to make the world more beautiful” said her grandfather.
- Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney

Miss Rumphius chronicles a multigenerational story of spreading beauty. This pattern seeks to provide beauty to your sock wardrobe. Whether you choose to knit these from the most perfect mini set, or from scraps of projects past, I am confident they will bring beauty to your life.

Yarn support for this pattern was generously provided by Murky Depths Dyeworks from New York. There is a lot to love about this yarn. I knew as soon as I saw the Osby Deep Dips mini kit I needed to knit Miss Rumphius inspired socks. Murky Depths Dyeworks truly spreads beauty.

I am so delighted to share these socks with you. Please share your WIPs, HOs, and FOs with the hashtag #rumphiussocks.

Happy Knitting + Take Care,
Emma Janet
