The Rustic Cable Scarf was the Mystery Knit Scarf 2026.

Are you someone who loves knitting cables? This scarf features eight distinct, beautifully structured cable sections. Designed to build from one section to the next, the result is a clean, seamless finish.

I am embracing larger cables this year. Last year, I designed the Autumn Cable Scarf with smaller cables. But, this year I went chunky. I still used a worsted weight yarn, but the cables will really pop!

This scarf was designed with Knit Picks Simply worsted weight yarn. However, any worsted weight yarn will work.

Each section uses approximately 80 yards (72 m) or a total of 640 yards (576 m). You can use one solid colour, or each section can be a different colour. This is a great project to use up some of your yarn scraps.

This pattern is fully written and fully charted. You get to choose which method you will use.

This MKAL was hosted in my Knotenufknitting Knit-a-longs.

Enjoy and happy cable knitting!
