This is a beanie style hat, knit in the round from the bottom up. The simple, yet distinct cables make it easy and satisfying for both beginner and advanced knitters.

Pattern requires the following skills: knitting in the round on circular needles, cabling, working ribbing, decreasing.
The Twisted German Cast On method is called for but can be replaced by another if preferred. Changing it will not impact the rest of the pattern.
The cables are charted but with written instructions as well.

Finished Measurements (unstretched): 17.5”/44.5cm brim circumference; 8.75”/22cm height. Fits average adult head size: 20-23”/53-58.5cm circumference. If a different hat height is desired it can easily be adjusted. Noted in pattern where to do so.

Yarn: Worsted Weight - 143 yards/131m, 73g/2.6oz
Suggested Yarn: Local Color Fiber Studio Rambouillet 2-Ply Worsted 100% wool (196 yards/180m per 3.5oz/100g skein); 1 skein dyed with Rudbeckia.

Suggested Needles: US 6/4 mm - 16”/40 cm circulars for body of hat &
US 6/4 mm - DPNs for crown shaping. OR US 6 /4mm 40” circular for Magic Loop method OR Two US 6 /4mm 24” circulars for Two-Circulars method.

Errata: In version 1.0 the moving of the stitch markers was omitted. To correct, remove the markers on the last rnd of the cable chart. Then work the following set-up rnd before continuing onto the crown shaping: Set-up rnd: (Sl 12 sts purlwise, pm) 7 times. You should have eight sections with twelve stitches in each section.
Version 1.0 and 1.1 are missing an asterisk in front of the k2tog in decrease Round 2.
