Introduction
Two things I love in the knitting universe are beautifully variegated yarns, and textured stitches. The two don’t always play nicely together, as the yarn and stitch compete for their “moments”.
The Saguaro Socks pattern came from a desire to knit an interesting texture, while allowing the yarn to show its unique character and colour.
I was inspired by the spiny texture of the columnar Saguaro cactus, and by the namesake colourway chosen for my sample knit: Saguaro National Park, by Explorer Knits and Fibres.
This sock pattern looks lovely in muted colour tones, is really fun in vibrant and variegated colourways and it’s a great option for sock yarn sets too.

Construction
The socks are knit top down, with an alternating rib cuff.
The textured Saguaro V Stitch is the signuature feature of the pattern, tightly spaced at first and are gradually spaced out over the length of the sock.
The heel is a simple wrap and turn style.
