Saguaro + brioche = Saguaroche is a brioche colorwork cowl pattern. Don’t worry, it’s not stranded, just worked by alternating the brioche stitches used. BONUS!~ the wrong side of the cowl isn’t something you’ll have to keep hidden - the cacti are just slimmer versions of the front side in the opposite color.

This 54 brioche stitch pattern can be worked with any 2 colors of fingering weight yarn, so play around and find your favorite combination!

Sizes by circumference: 16in (41cm), 24in (61cm), 32in (81cm), 40in (102cm), 48in (122cm)

Yarn: amounts are for the largest size
Color 1 is the cactus color: 2 skeins Malabrigo Finito Aguas
Color 2 is the background color: 1 skein Sock Obsession Yarns White Sands

Gauge: 6.5sts & 8rows per inch(2.5cm) in Brioche Rib (this is including both colors) Guage issues lead to size AND yardage issues - take the time to get the gauge or buy extra yarn! From my skeins, I had approximately 25g of each left over.

Needles: US Size 2 (2.75mm) circular needles in 16in (24, 32, 32, 47)

Cast on 104 (156, 208, 260, 312). I used 2-color long-tail cast on, but you can use any 2-color cast on you like. You can use a single-color cast-on – I’d suggest the background color for the initial cast-on.

ALWAYS feel free to contact me with questions and corrections. I know some stitches can be tricky and I can point you to the places I learned them.

THANK YOU for browsing/favoriting/purchasing my pattern!
