The colour of the yarn used for the pattern sample was named ‘Blossom’ and the particular shade of pink reminded the designer of the cherry blossom trees.

In Japan the cherry blossom is its national flower and named ‘Sakura’. They are ceremonial symbols and highly esteemed, being connected to both hope and humility.

This cabled hat has been designed with the beginner/improver knitter in mind. The pattern itself has simple instructions and it is straight forward to remember after the first repeat.

It’s a one skein project that would make use of a precious skein of solid or semi solid Aran yarn in your stash.
