Sammie Hat is constructed from a combination of knit and purl stitches. This hat is simple to make yet stays interesting enough to fly off your needles. Whether you make this hat for yourself or anyone else, everyone is sure to enjoy it.

Techniques/Skills

  • Knit and purl stitches
  • Increases
  • Decreases
  • Knitting in the round

Yarn
I used almost 2 skeins of Valley Yarns Valley Superwash, but recommend any aran or worsted weight yarn with good stitch definition. Solid color, tonal, or lightly speckled yarn would work well with the textures in this pattern.

Needles/Gauge
Needles and Gauge: I used a pair of 24” US 3 circular needles for the ribbing on the brim and US 5 for the rest of the hat. However, gauge isn’t particularly important.
